Daniel S. Mensh, President/Owner Mensh Insurance

Daniel Mensh grew up in the Washington DC area the son of Jeffrey and Donna Mensh. In 1979, Jeffrey founded a leading independent insurance agency with particular focus in the physician and executive marketplace. Life, Disability and eventually Long Term Care Insurance would become the primary products of Jeffrey C. Mensh & Associates Inc and Long Term Care Advisory Services, LLC. Association discount programs for disability and long term care insurance were designed and maintained for physicians via the DC Medical Society, the North Virginia Physicians Association, and The Washington Hospital Center, part of what would become Medstar Health.

Daniel was recruited by the late hall of fame golf coach Rod Myers to  attend Duke University and play on the golf team. Due to unfortunate wrist problems Daniel stopped all competitive golf during his sophomore year and turned his attention to classes taught by Dr. Deborah Gold in the department of sociology and ultimately did independent study work at the Long Term Care Resource Center at Duke University Medical Center. With specialization in long term care and health care, it was natural for Daniel to join the Mensh Insurance agency and form Long Term Care Advisory Services. After becoming a national leader in individual LTC Insurance sales, the retirement of Jeffrey from the daily business operation, and the growth in disability and life insurance as part of Daniel’s daily operation, the decision was made to move the business  and consolidate the product areas in Winston Salem, North Carolina under the name Mensh Insurance.

Since 2004, Daniel Mensh has established an individual and corporate presence in the areas of Life, Disability and Long Term Care Insurance. National and multi life insurance programs have successfully been designed, implemented and maintained for national CPA firms such as CohnReznick (Formerly Reznick Group) and hospitals such as Wake Forest Baptist Health (Wake Forest University) Other insurance programs have been designed for municipalities such as Gastonia, NC, Associations such as the National Sportscasters Sportswriters Association, and medical organizations such as Cornerstone Healthcare. Daniel is recognized as a national expert in individual disability insurance in the employer marketplace to include hospitals, associations, and other executive occupations. Since 2010, particular focus and attention has been directed to the needs and tools for Medical Residents and Fellows to be properly insured and protect all income via disability and life insurance products. Via strategic partnerships to represent all main carriers such as The Standard, Guardian, Principal, Ameritas, and Lloyds of London via their American Subsidiary International Specialty Insurance, there is no medical institution or teaching hospital in the United States that Mensh Insurance cant help or significantly improve benefit platforms.

Additionally, Daniel has proudly served on the Piedmont Triad Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and chaired the annual golf tournament from 2010 through 2013. Other Boards include Friends of Brenner’s Children’s Hospital, and The SouthFork Panthers Youth Football, part of American Youth Football. Daniel also coaches lacrosse for Winston Salem Lacrosse and has coached baseball for the Winston Salem National Little League.
